Meet Our Village Warden – Rick! 👋
You may have spotted a familiar face out and about in the village — litter picking 🧹, clearing leaves 🍂 and generally keeping things looking ship-shape ✨. That’s Rick, our Village Warden, who has been in post since November.
Rick is usually out in the village around three times a week 🚶♂️, helping to keep our streets, paths and green spaces 🌳 clean, tidy and welcoming for everyone. 😊
This role was created by the Parish Council in direct response to feedback from residents 🗣️, who told us how important it is to them that Wombourne looks cared for and well-maintained. We’re really pleased to have been able to act on that feedback and introduce a role dedicated to just that. 👍
Importantly, this role was not created to replace our wonderful BKV volunteers 💚 or the many fantastic, dedicated members of the public, who regularly give up their time to help keep Wombourne clean, 🙌 Their contribution is invaluable and they hugely outnumber Rick.
The Village Warden role is intended to complement and support the fantastic work already being done by our community, 🤝
