New Chairman & Vice Chairman Elected

🌟 New Chairman & Vice Chairman Elected 🌟
At last night’s Annual Meeting of the Parish Council, councillors elected the Chairman and Vice Chairman for the year ahead.
A heartfelt thank you to Cllr Vince Merrick for a fantastic year as Chairman, and for proudly handing over the chains.
We’re delighted to announce that Cllr Martin Perry has been elected as Chairman.
Martin has lived in Wombourne for over 25 years and married fellow Parish Councillor, Daisy Perry, last summer. With a background in IT and a role at a local company, he first joined the Parish Council in October 2021 and became a District Councillor in May 2023.
A passionate supporter of community life, Martin continues this year as Chairman of Recreation and Amenities, having played a key role in several recent local projects:
✔️ New changing rooms at Brickbridge Playing Fields
✔️ Outdoor gym equipment installed at Brickbridge
✔️ Redesign of Poolhouse Park play area
✔️ New bus stop and picnic benches in the village centre
✔️ Launch of the Friends of Bratch Park initiative
We’re also proud to announce that Cllr Elizabeth Keeling has been elected as Vice Chairman and is one of the youngest to date. Having joined the Parish Council at just 18, Elizabeth has spent the last six years working hard to make Wombourne a better place to live and work.
As one of the Council’s appointed retailer liaisons, she’s built strong relationships with local businesses and helped organise community events, such as Small Business Saturday. She was also a driving force in improving the Parish Council’s social media pages in 2019 and helped develop the new Parish Council Newsletter in 2024.
Professionally, Elizabeth has a background in PR and Marketing and was recently appointed Communications Officer to our local MP, Mike Wood, who represents South Staffordshire and Kingswinford.
Please join us in congratulating Cllr Martin Perry and Cllr Elizabeth Keeling on their new roles. We look forward to a successful year ahead under your leadership! 👏
