The Electoral Services team at South Staffordshire Council is hard at work year-round, ensuring our democratic processes run smoothly – from local parish by-elections to General Elections.
They do it all – maintaining the electoral register (currently at 87,000 voters!), organising polling stations, training staff and handling everything in between – even when snap elections throw a curveball! Recently, they’ve adapted to important changes like the introduction of voter photo ID and completed a thorough Polling District Review.
But it’s not just about Election Day – the team is busy all year, verifying postal votes, updating the register and preparing for the next election.
