Deputy Site Manager Vacancy – Wombourne Civic Centre
Wombourne Parish Council is seeking to appoint a reliable, flexible and practical Deputy Site Manager to join our team at Wombourne Civic Centre.
Our Civic Centre is a thriving community venue, hosting a wide range of activities including public meetings, private functions, exercise classes and large community events. The Deputy Site Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the Civic Centre remains safe, clean, and welcoming for all users.
About the Role
- Location: Wombourne Civic Centre, Gravel Hill, Wombourne, WV5 9HA
- Hours: Average of 21.5 hours per week, including evening and weekend shifts, following a 4-week rota to include:
• Tuesday & Thursday: 2.30pm–10.30pm• Friday: 8.30am-4.00pm (twice monthly)• Friday & Saturday: 6.30pm-12.30am (once monthly)
- Salary: £15.25 per hour (Annual salary: £17,049.50)
- Pension: NEST Workplace Pension Scheme (3%)
- Leave: 21 days (rising to 25 after 5 years), plus bank holidays (pro-rata)
The Deputy Site Manager will assist in the day-to-day running of the Civic Centre, including room setup for hirers, basic maintenance tasks, cleaning, security checks, and supervising evening and weekend events. The postholder will also deputise for the Site Manager during periods of absence.
Due to the nature of the role, flexibility is essential, and the successful candidate should ideally live within a 15–20 minute travel time of the Civic Centre.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Open, close, and secure the Civic Centre
✅ Set up rooms and supervise evening/weekend bookings
✅ Carry out minor maintenance and cleaning duties
✅ Ensure health and safety procedures are followed
✅ Support hirers and provide excellent customer service
✅ Deputise for the Site Manager when needed
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who is:
- Practical and hands-on
- Reliable and flexible with working hours
- Able to work independently and as part of a small team
- Comfortable with manual handling and basic maintenance
- Friendly, approachable and professional in dealing with the public
A full UK driving licence is essential. Previous experience in caretaking, facilities management, or a similar role would be an advantage.
