📢 Vacancy: Site Manager – Wombourne Civic Centre
Salary: ÂŁ17.00 per hour (ÂŁ33,592 per annum) | Average 38 hours per week | Permanent

Wombourne Parish Council are looking for an experienced and proactive Site Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation of Wombourne Civic Centre, our busy and much-loved community venue at the heart of village life.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a hands-on, can-do attitude and a passion for delivering excellent service in a practical, customer-facing role.
The successful candidate will play a crucial part in ensuring our Centre is safe, well-maintained and welcoming for all users – including fitness classes, private hires, community events and Parish Council meetings.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and supervise the site team, including the Deputy Site Manager, Site Facilitator and cleaning staff
- Create weekly work programmes and task schedules to ensure efficient operation across all shifts
- Open, secure, and maintain the Civic Centre and grounds to a high standard, including basic repairs and maintenance
- Support hirers and events, providing a visible, helpful presence during bookings and key community functions
- Ensure building safety compliance, including booking and overseeing PAT testing, fire alarm servicing and emergency light inspections
- Liaise with contractors, monitor site services and manage supplies and stock levels
- Oversee room layouts created by the Admin Assistant, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
- Provide support when required, including welcoming visitors and conducting venue tours in the Admin Assistant’s absence
- Respond to emergencies and support out-of-hours needs as a keyholder
Your Working Pattern:
This role is based on a 4-week rolling rota, averaging 38 hours per week (see job description document below for rota), with regular evening and weekend shifts. Hours are shaped around Civic Centre bookings and the rota of the part-time Superintendent. Additional weekend hours may be required and are paid at the standard hourly rate.

Who We’re Looking For:
You’ll need to be:
- Reliable, punctual and flexible
- Able to lead a small team and work independently
- Comfortable with manual handling, practical maintenance tasks and using tools
- A great communicator with excellent customer service skills
- Willing to work evenings and weekends as required
- Ideally based within 15–20 minutes of the Civic Centre to respond quickly in emergencies
- A holder of a Full UK Driving Licence
Relevant qualifications (First Aid, Fire Warden, NVQs) and experience with caretaking, health and safety, or compliance responsibilities are desirable.
