Our budget and precept explained
From April 2024, our proportion of your council tax will be increasing by 10p per week.
With that 10p per week, we will be embarking on some exciting projects, including:
- A complete revamp of Poolhouse Play Area
- Installing new exercise equipment at Brickbridge Playing Fields
- Renewing the lease at Brickbridge Playing Fields and investing in the changing room facilities
- Continuing the invest in the tubs and planters around the village with spring bulbs and flowers
- Resurface around some of the equipment at Bratch Park to ensure its longevity
- Provide free or heavily discounted activities at Wombourne Civic Centre
- Continue to invest in the Civic Centre to ensure it remains a central hub for the village where the annual Wombourne Carnival and the Christmas Lights Switch On event takes places
The above will be in addition to the services we already provide to you, which include:
- Festive illuminations and Christmas Lights Switch On event
- Wombourne Civic Centre offering discounted rates for residents as well as providing a home for our local Policing team keeping them in the centre of the village
- Free public toilets
- Three recreational amenities – Poolhouse Play Area, Bratch Park and Brickbridge Playing Fields
- Tubs and planters around the village
- A website, social media platforms and noticeboards to keep you updated on events and news within the village
- Elections every 4 years
- Support to local community groups
- Support to local businesses through initiatives such as Small Business Saturday
