Wombourne and Swindon Relief in Need Charity
The Wombourne and Swindon Relief in Need Charity was formed in 1984 from the amalgamation of three local Charities that had existed since 1647, 1886 and 1892.
The Charity’s primary function is to provide support for individuals in need (adults or children) who reside in the parishes of Wombourne or Swindon by way of grants / gifts of money or by paying for goods, services or facilities.
Support can be by way of regular grants / gifts for a limited period or as a one off payment.
Generally, the charity provides support to individuals in need where funding from statutory bodies and organisations is unavailable and /or a funding request has been declined.
Examples of support the charity can provide are:
– Providing meal vouchers for children
– Payment of travel expenses for visiting people in hospital or residential / nursing homes
– A one off payment to assist an individual to take part in a sports tournament
– A one off payment towards the cost of a disabled ramp to a domestic home
– Providing financial support to individuals to enable them to go on a group trip or excursion
