New Bridge is good to go!
🌉 New Bridge Installed Over Wom Brook in Wombourne 🌉
In October 2023, a particularly severe flood caused significant damage to the footbridge crossing the Wom Brook, leaving it unusable and disrupting access for residents and visitors alike. We’re excited to share that the bridge has now been replaced by South Staffordshire Council!

Their team, in close collaboration with the Environment Agency, bridge manufacturers and a local contractor, has worked hard to design and install a new bridge that ensures safety, while respecting the local environment and habitats along the brook.

Councillor Mike Davies, Cabinet Member for Community Services at South Staffordshire Council, said, ‘I’m really pleased to confirm the replacement bridge is now open to the public. I hope Wombourne residents and visitors will enjoy using it as they explore this valuable Local Nature Reserve’.
