Blakeley Heath Primary School visit our Council Chamber

At the end of 2023, ten students voted for by their School Council visited our Council Chamber as part of their Parliament Week.

Councillors Dan Kinsey BEM and Ian Sadler hosted the group who learnt about the history of the Parish Council.

The students took it in turns to sit in the Chairman’s seat in the Chamber, as well as wear his Chain and use the gavel and look through some old minutes.

Their teacher, Mrs Harkness said of the visit ‘The children had a great time and talked about it all the way back to school’.

The School Council later wrote to the Parish Council saying ‘We are writing to thank you for allowing us to visit the Council Chambers. We found the visit very informative and interesting. Dan Kinsey and Ian Sadler made it lots of fun’.
