Keep your eye out for our new water vole artwork!

New Artwork along the Wom Brook
🪵 South Staffordshire Council have a sculptor, Robot Cossey, at the Wom Brook over the next few weeks to carve two new artwork features to reflect local nature. He has already started work on the first – a water vole.
Â
🌱 Water voles are an endangered species in the UK, but we are lucky enough to have had sightings of a population living along the Wom Brook. As you’re walking along the brook, keep an eye out for signs of their burrows in the riverbank and piles of nibbled grass at the water’s edge.
Â
💻 The funding for the carvings has come from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and you can find out more about the fund on the gov.uk website: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/uk-shared-prosperity-fund-prospectus/uk-shared-prosperity-fund-frequently-asked-questions?
