New Chairman and Vice Chairman
Very Exciting News!
Last night at our Annual Meeting of the Parish Council, Councillors voted in our new Chairman and Vice Chairman for the year ahead.
Councillor Vince Merrick was elected our new Chairman. Vince has lived in the heart of our village for over 20 years with his wife, Emma, and has a background in waste management. He joined the Parish Council in May 2019 and the District Council in June 2019, where he is also the Chairman of Environmental Health and Licensing. He is Wombourne’s Police Liaison Officer and point of contact with the local Police team. He is also a long serving Police volunteer and an active member of the Giggetty Action Group. Vince is well-known to many local residents and works tirelessly to keep our village safe. He is a proud Wulfrunian and Wolves season ticket holder, who is always happy to help residents resolve issues with his positive outlook.
Councillor Martin Perry is our new Vice Chairman. Martin has lived in Wombourne for over 25 years and is due to marry Daisy Tait, a fellow Parish Councillor, this summer. He has a background in IT and works for a local company. He joined our Parish Council when he was co-opted in October 2021 and then became a District Councillor in May 2023. Martin actively supports our village events and is continuing in his role as Chairman of Recreation and Amenities this year. He has worked hard with partner agencies towards making the best use of our green spaces. He was heavily involved in the development of the new changing rooms and installation of exercise equipment at Brickbridge Playing Fields, as well as the redesign of the play park equipment at Poolhouse Park.
