Street Performers Wanted!

STREET PERFORMERS NEEDED! 🤩
We are looking for talented singers, bands, magicians, clowns and costumed characters to entertain in the village for a couple of hours on this year’s Small Business Saturday!
If you or anyone you know would like to register an interest and are available on Saturday 7th December, please give us a call on 01902 896300. In exchange, we’re offering free advertising and exposure on social media and in the heart of Wombourne!
Everyone is welcome to apply and time slots will be allocated for the chosen acts. Thank you all!

Our Christmas Dinner Dance is back with a bang for 2024! 💥 Book your tickets NOW for a night to remember at our COOL YULE PARTY! It’s all happening at Wombourne Civic Centre on Friday 6th December from 7pm till 1am. 💃🏽🕺
Your friends, family and work colleagues are guaranteed a night of great music, delicious food and lots of festive fun! 🎉 Don’t hang about though… Last year, we sold out by October!
We have held the 2023 prices, so tickets are just £41.50pp including a welcome drink, 3 course meal, live entertainment and a disco until 1am. Call us today on 01902 896300 for all the information. Payments can be made by card or bank transfer.

Wednesday 18th September marks National Fitness Day! In celebration, Wombourne Leisure Centre wants to encourage people of all ages to try something new and reap the physical, social and mental benefits! Here’s a quick run-down of what they’ve got going on to inspire you:
• FREE leisure centre passes (Limited availability)
• FREE health checks (Tues 17th from 4pm till 6pm – TODAY!)
• Leisure Centre challenges with prizes to be won (Gym & Swim on Wed 18th)
• Members can ‘Bring a Friend for FREE’ on Wed 18th
• Members can Refer a friend onto a membership and in doing so will receive a fee-free month on Wed 18th
• Plus, all new joiners will receive £10 off their first month starting Wed 18th

Friends of Bratch Park Update

Thank you everyone!

A massive THANK YOU to everyone who turned up on Saturday to be part of the new Friends of Bratch Park group! The sun was shining, everyone came prepared and you could really feel the community spirit as they all set to work. Some even brought their children along to lend a helping hand, which was great to see!
 
They did a fantastic job moving all the wood bark, painting 6 out of the 9 benches, pruning and litter-picking! We would like to give a special thanks to Chris, Jan, Linda and a very kind gentleman called James, who offered to re-lay the foundations to one of the benches for us. Councillors Martin Perry, Daisy Perry and Dan Kinsey BEM were all there to lend a hand and a great time was had by all. Bratch Park is now a much nicer place, thanks to everyone’s brilliant efforts!
 
There are still a few jobs to be done, so they will be meeting again soon and are hoping this becomes a regular thing. If you’d like to join in the fun, it’s not too late. Please keep an eye on this page to see when the next met up is planned. The more the merrier! Thank you all! 😁

Free community learning courses for adults

Staffordshire Community Learning is offering a variety of new courses this autumn for adults aged 19 and over. These courses are held at local venues like libraries and community centres, with many also available online.
You can choose from a wide variety of subjects, including English and Maths, Digital and Computer skills, Community and Family learning, STEM and Vocational courses and Independence and Wellbeing.
Whether you want to learn something new, explore a new hobby, build confidence or upgrade your skills, Staffordshire Community Learning has a course for you. To find out more, click here:

Have you bought your Panto tickets yet?

HAVE YOU GOT YOUR TICKETS YET? 🎭
Tickets are selling very well for this year’s panto, CINDERELLA, which takes place at Wombourne Civic Centre on Saturday 7th December! Please call 01902 896300 and to request the 3.30pm or 6.15pm performance. It’s £10 per child and £12 per adult with tickets and seats on a first come, first served basis. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Payments can be made via card or bank transfer. Doors will open 15 minutes before each performance and the bar will be open for drinks. We look forward to seeing you all there! 😃

Your Parish Councillors are really looking forward to seeing lots of you this Saturday down at Bratch Park for the NEW Friends of Bratch Park group. Please come in old clothes with gardening gloves, ready to get stuck in! Everyone is meeting at 10am and activities will follow till 2pm. Be prepared to strim, tidy, paint and litterpick.
