Looking For Performers!

STREET PERFORMERS NEEDED! 🤩

We are looking for talented singers, bands, magicians, clowns and costumed characters to entertain in the village for a couple of hours on this year’s Small Business Saturday!
If you are interested and available on Saturday 7th December, please give us a call on 01902 896300. In exchange, we’ll give you free publicity on our website, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, as well as in both village noticeboards. Plus, there is always an increased footfall on Small Business Saturday ready and waiting to you, as many local retailers get involved and it’s also the day of our Christmas Craft Fair and two Pantomime shows! This is your chance to perform in the heart of the village and show Wombourne what you’ve got! Everyone is welcome to apply and time slots will be allocated for the chosen acts. Thank you all.

This is the last date we have left this year and we are offering it at a discounted rate for everybody. Annual Canvass

Register you vote with the District Council

It’s that time of year for the annual Canvass and if you live within South Staffordshire you may have noticed it is already underway. The Canvass is a statutory exercise the District Council undertake each year to ensure everyone is registered to vote at the correct address. This keeps the electoral register up to date and accurate. Registering to vote is a legal requirement, even if there is no intention from an individual to vote in any election. The first set of forms were posted out on 19th August. Certain properties had three weeks to respond. If the District Council did not have any response, you would have been sent a reminder form. After a further three weeks and no reply, they will make personal contact via telephone call. To make sure you don’t lose your vote and say on decisions that affect you, please make sure to update your electoral registration details. Thank you.

It’s that time of year again when the dark nights are drawing in… 🍂 This means that our Park Wardens will be locking up Brickbridge, Bratch and Poolhouse Parks from the earlier time of 4.30pm over the next few months. Please be mindful of this if you are out walking your dog and remember to let your children know. Thanks very much! 🌳

Visit from Ben Adams

Police, Fire & Crime Commissioner

Ben Adams, our newly appointed Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner will attend our Full Council meeting on Monday 28th October. This will take place at 7pm in the Council Chamber building, which is on the Civic Centre car-park.
 
There will be the usual 15 minutes of public participation, before Ben has his own slot to answer your questions and discuss any issues raised. If you are interested in learning more about Ben before the meeting, please click this link:

We have had another lot of personal alarms delivered by the District Council, which we are giving out for FREE to South Staffordshire residents. If you or a family member would like one, please call into the Parish Council Office at the front of the Civic Centre between 9am and 3pm weekdays to collect before they’re all gone. Thank you!
