HAF Winter Programme

HAF is back for the festive holidays! 😃

The Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme enables local authorities in England to deliver inclusive, enriching activities including a hot meal over the school holidays. For the festive holidays, eligible children can book four free places. The Staffordshire HAF programme will run at various locations in local areas starting from Saturday 21st December until Saturday 4th January.
 
It’s funded for children and young people aged 5 to 16 years, who receive benefit related free school meals. For a full overview, please watch this video:

All parents will be sent an email from Staffordshire County Council with their child’s/children’s individual HAF code. Schools have also been requested to share information and booking details with all eligible children. To avoid disappointment, parents/carers should book as soon as possible or scan the QR code on their letter from school.

Who should I contact?

ROLES OF THE THREE COUNCILS

The Parish Council tend to be the first point of call for residents, who have questions and concerns about life in Wombourne. However, there are three tiers of local
government, each responsible for the different things that happen within Wombourne:
 
❤️ Staffordshire County Council
💙 South Staffordshire District Council
🩵 Wombourne Parish Council
 
This image shows the main areas we receive queries about here at the Civic Centre, however only the Parish Council is based here. If you would have a query about
any of the areas in bottom light blue section, please call 01902 896300, drop us an email or call in to speak to a member of staff.
 
For everything else, we politely ask that you contact either the County Council or District Council, depending on who is responsible for that area. Contacting the
correct council will ensure that your query is answered swiftly and that you personally are kept up to date with all relevant information, including reference numbers.
 
Please note that the Parish Council do not represent residents of Wombourne. We serve them, along with the other two tiers of local government. We are unable to contact the District Council or County Council on your behalf. Thank you.

December Ward Walk

There will be a Ward Walk taking place on Saturday 14th December between 10.30am and midday. This is where your Councillors will walk around their wards, ready to discuss any issues with residents. They should be easily recognisable by wearing their Parish Councillor badges.

We’ve laughed, danced, shopped and embraced the festive spirit together…. and what a wonderful time it’s been!

🎶 Thursday: Our Carol Concert filled the air with music and laughter, bringing the community together to kick off the festive season in style!
 
💃 Friday: The Christmas Dinner Dance was a night to remember—glitz, glamour, and plenty of dancing! Who else is still humming their favourite tune from the night? 💃🕺
 
🛍️ Saturday: Wombourne was buzzing for Small Business Saturday! The Toy Trail and Craft Fair brought smiles to so many faces and the day has ended with two magical performances of Cinderella, leaving us all in a fairy tale mood. 🥿✨
 
As we reflect on this week, we can’t forget the beautiful Christmas lights that are shining bright throughout the village, adding a touch of sparkle and reminding us all of the magic of this season. 🎄✨
 
This week has been a testament to the incredible community spirit we have here in Wombourne. We are so grateful to everyone who joined in, supported our events, and helped spread holiday cheer. Let’s keep this energy going throughout December!
