We’ve laughed, danced, shopped and embraced the festive spirit together…. and what a wonderful time it’s been!
 
Let’s take a moment to look back at the joy we’ve shared:
 
🎶 Thursday: Our Carol Concert filled the air with music and laughter, bringing the community together to kick off the festive season in style!
 
💃 Friday: The Christmas Dinner Dance was a night to remember—glitz, glamour, and plenty of dancing! Who else is still humming their favourite tune from the night? 💃🕺
 
🛍️ Saturday: Wombourne was buzzing for Small Business Saturday! The Toy Trail and Craft Fair brought smiles to so many faces and the day has ended with two magical performances of Cinderella, leaving us all in a fairy tale mood. 🥿✨
 
As we reflect on this week, we can’t forget the beautiful Christmas lights that are shining bright throughout the village, adding a touch of sparkle and reminding us all of the magic of this season. 🎄✨
 
This week has been a testament to the incredible community spirit we have here in Wombourne. We are so grateful to everyone who joined in, supported our events, and helped spread holiday cheer. Let’s keep this energy going throughout December!
 
🎁 Remember, our local businesses are at the heart of our village and they need our support. Whether it’s popping into a shop, grabbing a bite to eat, or simply recommending them to a friend, every little bit helps to keep Wombourne thriving.

Trail sheets and a free Christmas pencil to do the trail are available from our Parish Councillors in the Council Chamber on the Civic Centre car-park between 11am and 2pm. This is also where our Craft Fair is happening and both are FREE!
 
Drop your completed trail sheets into the Civic Centre letterbox before 5pm today to be in the draw for the family hamper!
 
While you’re doing the trail around the shops, please pop in and support our local retailers. #shoplocal

Wombourne Christmas Carol Concert

🎶✨ Thank You for a Magical Christmas Carol Concert! ✨🎶
What a wonderful evening we had at our Christmas Carol Concert!
A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who joined us to celebrate the festive season with music, reflection and community spirit.
We’d like to express our deepest gratitude to Churches Together, with special thanks to Jon Tiley for all his hard work in organising this incredible event.
A big thank you to Rev. Julia Cody for her beautiful opening prayer and to Rev. Andrew Mann-Ray for his thoughtful reflection and closing blessing.
The evening wouldn’t have been complete without the amazing performances from our talented participants:
🎤 High Flyers – for their fun-filled rendition of Wonderful Christmas Time and the lively Christmas Conga Parade.
🎄 Westfields Community Primary School – for their lovely versions of Away in a Manger and O Little Town of Bethlehem.
🔔 Wombourne Music Makers – for their delightful performances of Christmas is Here and The Christmas Bells.
📜 Bridge Manor Care Home – for their charming reading of Twas the Night Before Christmas.
🎅 Blakeley Heath Primary School – for their cheerful renditions of Frosty the Snowman, Rock Around the Christmas Tree and Santa Claus is Coming to Town.
🕊️ Wombourne URC Choir – for their heartfelt performance of While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks by Night.
❄️ St. Benedict Biscop Primary School – for their beautiful renditions of White Christmas, As We Wait for Christmas Day and a lively Christmas Hit.
A special mention to our Chairman, Councillor Vince Merrick, for his reading of the Nativity story, which reminded us of the true meaning of Christmas.
The grand finale featuring all the schools and the High Flyers Parade was truly a magical way to end the evening, topped off by a visit from the Big Man, Santa Claus!
Finally, a huge thank you to all the parents, guardians and attendees for making the evening so special with your support and presence

This Weekend’s Christmas Craft Fair!

Set your alarms!

Our Christmas Craft Fair is happening this weekend! Pop along to the Council Chamber on the Civic Centre car-park between 11am and 2pm this Saturday 7th December. Entry is FREE and there will be a vast array of festive goodies waiting for you! Plus, this is where you collect your trail sheets to find Santa’s Toys in the shop windows, so make sure you call in! 🎅

Supporting Compton Care

Light Up A Life This Christmas! 💛

This Christmas, join Compton Care’s Light up a Life Appeal and remember someone special, while making a difference for those facing life limiting illnesses. A tree for Compton’s Care is located within the face to face area of the foyer in the Hub. You can take a tag and write a tribute to celebrate someone special that you’re missing this Christmas. If you can, please consider donating to support Compton Care, there is a donation box located next to the tree, if paying by card the suggested donation is £3. Compton’s Care also have a “Coming Together” ceremony at 1.30pm at Compton Hall, WV3 9DH ON Sunday, 8th December. Everyone is free to attend.

It’s Panto Time!

Cinderella is coming!

Maybe keep an eye out for a pumpkin carriage this weekend, as M&M Productions are set to roll into Wombourne with this year’s amazing panto, Cinderella! 🎃 The rear doors to the Civic Centre will open 15 minutes before your performance begins. This is time for you to order any drinks from the bar and find a seat. Please bring your tickets ready to show on the door, plus any keen princes and princesses! 🤴👸

This December, join the team at Blush Beauty Rooms on Station Road to remember a loved one, raise funds for Midlands Air Ambulance and honour Harry Taylor. Share a message on an angel in their window, sharing memories, lessons learned or how much you miss them and they will donate £2 to Midlands Air Ambulance for each angel.

Don’t miss it!

We hope to see lots of you this Thursday evening at Wombourne Civic Centre for our Christmas Carol Concert! Wombourne Parish Council and Churches Together have put together a very festive evening with some fantastic performances form our local schools and community groups. There may even be a very special visitor at the end! 🎅 It’s FREE to attend and you’re all welcome to stay for a hot drink and a biscuit afterwards, so pop in this Thursday 5th December. Doors open at 6pm, ready for a 6.30pm start. See you all there!
