Since the closure of Wombourne Household Waste Recycling Centre, South Staffordshire Council have been working behind the scenes to look with safety specialists to find alternative solutions for the complicated ground issues the site is experiencing.
Their top priority is everyone’s safety, so they will only look to reopen the site when they can be sure you can use it safely. In the meantime, they’ll keep doing everything they can to ensure you can keep recycling.
Residents can still use Bilbrook or Dudley’s Household Waste Recycling Centre, which is located on Birmingham Street, Stourbridge, DY8 1JE. You will need to have a qualifying South Staffordshire postcode to use this site. A full list of postcodes can be found on the South Staffordshire Council website:
From Monday 29th July till Friday 30th August, young people aged 8-17 living in South Staffordshire can enjoy discounts on swimming, gym sessions and 3G pitch hire thanks to funding from the Office of Police and Crime Commissioner.
